Sasha Lebedieva

Product designer working on complex B2B and B2C products. I start where the problem is still vague, and stay through the roadmap — discovery and concept first, then design systems and delivery.

Enhancing the low income experience for retail bank customers

A retail bank was losing entry-level customers to simpler competitors. A review of 20+ live flows and a cross-functional discovery, ending in one account that grows with the customer instead of four that compete.

A social layer for a betting platform

A European operator wanted users to stay for each other, not just the odds. Feed, badges, copied bets and communities, taken from a loose brief to a clickable concept.

what i do

Discovery and concept

Taking a broad or contradictory brief to a clear direction, fast. Usually the first few weeks, before there is anything to design against.

Data-heavy interfaces

Dashboards, simulators and decision tools. Products where the hard part is making a large amount of information actionable.

Design systems

Building and maintaining the components, patterns and rules that keep a product coherent as the team and the scope grow.

Through to delivery

Specs, handover, design QA and the hundred small decisions that come up while something is actually being built.

about

Placeholder — portrait, 4:5

Born in Kyiv, based in Riga. Trained as an architect before moving into digital products, which is probably why I think in structure and systems first.

Nine years at the same company, but not the same job: from UI design, through design systems and long delivery engagements, to leading design across a dozen industries and as many client cultures.

Most of my work starts before there is a brief. It usually ends with something shipped.

Outside product work I do creative and visual direction for Jauda, a party in Riga, and poster design for a volunteer fundraising organisation. Before all of this, ten years as a fashion photographer.
